The Centre provides monthly free legal information sessions on small claims court procedures. The sessions are facilitated by lawyers and law students and can provide legal coaching to help you navigate small claims matters. Learn:

Mediate
Sometimes the best way forward to resolve the problem is to hire a neutral, legal mediator. Legal mediators are a great middle-ground to resolve a dispute before going to court. The Centre’s Mediators:
Work separately with the parties
Give feedback on likely outcomes
Assess fair and reasonable outcomes
This added information is usually helpful in resolving the issue faster, without waiting for court.
Hire a lawyer
Sometimes the issues at stake are too complex and require a little more help. The Centre also has lawyers and law students who can assist you. The Centre’s Lawyers:
Can provide full legal representation
Charge on flat-fee basis depending on the size of your claim
Review and present your documents to the court
Prepare witnesses and question them at the hearing
